a question for all men: is it acceptable to watch pornography?
the key word "acceptable", instead of "natural" or "morally right", gives much room to ponder and debate on this question.
the girls who have been giving you so much obscene pleasure during those "lonely nights",
are the daughters of somebody, the girlfriends of somebody, and possibly the mothers of someobody.
what if someday that you are one of those somebodies?
i know that some understand that it is morally wrong to watch porn but still continue to do that for they cant control their desires during those lonely and horny moments.
i know that most men, from beggars to lawyers, from bastards to holynesses, from tweeny whimpy to nacho macho, cant resist pornography
and some think that it is natural to do so. hormones, genes, sexual instinct....but arent we men supposed to have superior cognitive understanding that empowers us not to be a slave of our passions, not to be shackled by the remnants of evolution, not to be manacled by the innate animal instincts?
some argued that these girls have chosen this path, and even boldly suggested that by not watching porns it will cause them to lose jobs and end up being prostitutes. first, economic theory of supply and demand. if there is more real men who fit the description of the men in "The Book of Man" by Osho, there wld be less demand of pornography, and as a result less women going into this industry. second, about the girls' choice. in principle we cant say that they have chosen, because they are not empowered, not in the right situation, right culture to make an informed and enlightened choice. the big environment aka our culture that is outrageously sex-driven is what/who makes the choice for these poor girls.
pornography is not only a social problem, but also a personal problem. i understand sometimes we men juz need to "let it out", so that we wun be sexually-repressed and unhappy. but there are really alternative ways to let out ur energy. 食饱思淫欲 (one will start thinking abt sex when the stomached is filled. think of the post-war love-making and babybooming period) we can divert our attention and channel this sexual energy to other more meaningful or less harmful activities: sports. comp games. or juz get a girlfriend, u know. it is definitely achievable. guys if u don't believe, compare the number of times u engage in some "lonely engagement" when u were in an intensive period of exam and after the exam. surely u wun have the energy/urge/time to do that if u r fully occupied in other stuff.
this brings me to another theory of mine on sex and gender. (i think that it is possible that some psychologists/sexologists might have already proposed something similar...but really i came up with this theory myself...not that this theory is a big-banging discovery though...i think some of u guys wld have thought of this also)
sex can be measured in term of sexual energy. sexual energy is an abstract idea of sexual urge/desire being qualifed as an energy. 八卦阴阳, theoretically the amount of sexual energy is generally the same between men and women, though there are some individual random "surplus" or "deficit". but one major difference btw men and women is that men's sexual energy is outward, while women's is inward.
this difference in the orientation of the sexual energy explains much of the differences in sexually-driven behaviours and the attitudes towards sex btw men and women. that's why men are always the more aggressive and restless in term of his desires for sex. women can live alright w/o having sex her entire life. whereas men start to get the raging urge once he reaches puberty. after their partners passed away young, generally there are more men who seek other sexual partner than women who do that. this is because sexual energy in women is seated comfortably inside them, and this potent energy will only flow out when called for. if not, this energy generally will not come out and disrupt the psychological peace of a woman. on the other hand, this energy is so outwardly active that it is highly accurate of a statement which claims that generally men think abt sex most of the time.
