This one-sided scoreline is, strictly speaking, a tiny little bit unjust for the Serbians, for they are a good side and they played not bad. But this nonetheless highlights the class of Argentina.
There are a few types of football games that will leave you with the feeling "ah....this is life".
The first type is games that show tremendous fighting spirit, remarkably from the teams that battled a sensational come-back. A classic example would be 1999 Manchester United which came from one goal behind to won the Champions League and completed the Treble. A recent case would be 2004 Champions League final, Liverpool vs AC Milan, in which Liverpool fought back from 3 goals down in the first half to tie the game at 3-3, and eventually won the game from penalty shootout.
The second type would be the showcase of class and beauty. Flashes of geniuses, sensational displays of prodigies, touches of brilliance. Brazil, Argentina, Arsenal, Barcelona are the few teams in the world which are capable of producing this type of sensation.
All the hoo-ha about world cup, on soccer bettings, commercial merchandise, scandals, the convergence of cultures, the stage where world unites....
and i say, world cup is about football games. Beauty. Passion. Goals.
