Begin with the end in mind,

See death as the final destination

Someone who long for a rejuvenation of childhood innocent in this world of hypocrisy and irony... Someone who long for a touch of love in this cold and heartless strange land... Like a fallen angel, heaven seems to be so near, yet so far from me... Begin with the end in mind. Think death as the destination, As we edge closer to it everyday I love you

lim

This is a letter i got from Lim Kit Siang's blog:

I have been a BN supporter for as long as I can remember (I am now 43). I took the brickbacts in the days when as a Chinese to side with BN (MCA) was to be ridiculed and scorned by my community and never regretted my allegience.

The recent Sarawak Election was the first that when DAP won seats, I didn’t grudge you the wins.

Why?

U may call me dumb but here are the things that I can accept as a patriot and Anak Malaysia who believes in “tumpah darah” for my country.

1. I can accept the petrol price hike.
2. I can even accept the electricity price hike.
3. I can accept the “NEP” in my youth for the future of my children. But not again please.
4. I can even accept that my pay is shrinking. I can “suffer” for the good of my country as long as we “suffer” together.

Now this is what I cannot accept:

1. I cannot accept that the good backbencher club President had to resign for doing the right thing. I want all my leaders to be like him, “Principled.”

2. I cannot accent that the Jasin MP did what he did and seem to be getting away with it. What is worse is he thinks he did nothing wrong.I am ashamed of leaders like him.

3. I cannot accept the mob rule in Penang recently. I believe in fighting fair. Cannot win by “threats and violence”. What is worse is there were BN people there and people who claim to be religious. Shameful. Especially so when my PM preaches Islam Hadhari, tolerance and consultation. There was another mob, albeit smaller one in Kelana Jaya a few months ago. All this I cannot take.

So wake up BN. I am sorely disappointed. I truly believed that there was going to be a change for the better. And I am still hoping. A country where fairness, tolerance and oneness would make us proud to be Malaysians.

So Mr. Lim, I cannot wish the DAP the best for I don’t support the DAP but I wanted to wish you who are in the opposition to do the right, principled and “one Malaysia” decisions. God bless you.

you can't pretend it's nothing but the rain

rains and tears are all the same but in the sun you have to play the game
you cant pretend it's nothing but the rain

just a musing: if we are in the fictional world of the da vinci code by dan brown, do you think the true story of holy grail should be revealed? shatter the delusion and distortion, challenge the faith of the believers, exterminate the opium of the masses? or be kepted dearly as a secret and maintain the status quo of the church and preserve the faith that forms the backbone of immense spiritual support for its massive followers?

you are cold and i am numb; a beautiful story and a perfect dumb.
Are you too cold, or am i too hot?

i'm tired. i feel lousy. i can't even handle adobe photoshop. how loser is that.

no comment

i have no comment on the following blog entry i koped from The Star Online Blog

I am writing to state categorically my opposition to the movie the Da Vinci Code and its screening, promotions as well as distribution.

In this great nation of ours, an integral part of our citizenship is "Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan", the foremost of the pillars of our Rukunegara. Also, we are a model country and our harmonious racial, cultural and religious diversity is a model that precious few other countries have successfully emulated. Tolerance, understanding and cooperation among the races and religions are the very cornerstones of our success. These were showcased, among other times, in our Government allowing the screening of The Passion of the Christ to Christians many months ago.

Now, however, Christians have to face the blasphemous challenge from the Da Vinci Code, which some erroneously term "entertainment". The movie (and the book on which it is based), obviously created by a combination of heretics and atheists, should have no place in our country. It is overt and blatant blasphemy and should be shunned by all levels of society, as were the recent infamous and blasphemous cartoon strips.

As a Christian, I believe that my Lord Jesus is the Son of God and God Himself (Gospel of John, Chapter 1, verse 1 & 14). I also believe that He was without sin and rose from the dead, undefiled, and is seated at the right Hand of God and will execute Judgment on the world at His next coming.

The book, and now the movie, though termed fiction, desecrates the very tenets of Christian faith and I take exception to both as well as to the belligerence and blatant disrespect to God shown by the movie's lead actor, Tom Hanks, in a recent talk show discussing it (the movie).

I cannot and will not take action on the actor directly, but I will pray that he will repent of his sin of blasphemy.

What I would like to appeal to our Prime Minister and our Government for, however, is that the book, the movie, all advertisments related to them, as well as all contests and promotions relating thereto be banned. I make this appeal to our leaders as one who believes in God (Re: Rukunegara), as one who is a happy citizen of Malaysia and as one who opposes this movie (and everything that glorifies it) as it is heresy as well as blasphemy disguised as "entertainment".

i can take on anything in the world.

maybe except you.

a discourse on pornography and sex

i like oprah winfrey talkshow. socially insightful.

a question for all men: is it acceptable to watch pornography?

the key word "acceptable", instead of "natural" or "morally right", gives much room to ponder and debate on this question.

the girls who have been giving you so much obscene pleasure during those "lonely nights",
are the daughters of somebody, the girlfriends of somebody, and possibly the mothers of someobody.
what if someday that you are one of those somebodies?

i know that some understand that it is morally wrong to watch porn but still continue to do that for they cant control their desires during those lonely and horny moments.
i know that most men, from beggars to lawyers, from bastards to holynesses, from tweeny whimpy to nacho macho, cant resist pornography

and some think that it is natural to do so. hormones, genes, sexual instinct....but arent we men supposed to have superior cognitive understanding that empowers us not to be a slave of our passions, not to be shackled by the remnants of evolution, not to be manacled by the innate animal instincts?

some argued that these girls have chosen this path, and even boldly suggested that by not watching porns it will cause them to lose jobs and end up being prostitutes. first, economic theory of supply and demand. if there is more real men who fit the description of the men in "The Book of Man" by Osho, there wld be less demand of pornography, and as a result less women going into this industry. second, about the girls' choice. in principle we cant say that they have chosen, because they are not empowered, not in the right situation, right culture to make an informed and enlightened choice. the big environment aka our culture that is outrageously sex-driven is what/who makes the choice for these poor girls.

pornography is not only a social problem, but also a personal problem. i understand sometimes we men juz need to "let it out", so that we wun be sexually-repressed and unhappy. but there are really alternative ways to let out ur energy. 食饱思淫欲 (one will start thinking abt sex when the stomached is filled. think of the post-war love-making and babybooming period) we can divert our attention and channel this sexual energy to other more meaningful or less harmful activities: sports. comp games. or juz get a girlfriend, u know. it is definitely achievable. guys if u don't believe, compare the number of times u engage in some "lonely engagement" when u were in an intensive period of exam and after the exam. surely u wun have the energy/urge/time to do that if u r fully occupied in other stuff.

this brings me to another theory of mine on sex and gender. (i think that it is possible that some psychologists/sexologists might have already proposed something similar...but really i came up with this theory myself...not that this theory is a big-banging discovery though...i think some of u guys wld have thought of this also)

sex can be measured in term of sexual energy. sexual energy is an abstract idea of sexual urge/desire being qualifed as an energy. 八卦阴阳, theoretically the amount of sexual energy is generally the same between men and women, though there are some individual random "surplus" or "deficit". but one major difference btw men and women is that men's sexual energy is outward, while women's is inward.

this difference in the orientation of the sexual energy explains much of the differences in sexually-driven behaviours and the attitudes towards sex btw men and women. that's why men are always the more aggressive and restless in term of his desires for sex. women can live alright w/o having sex her entire life. whereas men start to get the raging urge once he reaches puberty. after their partners passed away young, generally there are more men who seek other sexual partner than women who do that. this is because sexual energy in women is seated comfortably inside them, and this potent energy will only flow out when called for. if not, this energy generally will not come out and disrupt the psychological peace of a woman. on the other hand, this energy is so outwardly active that it is highly accurate of a statement which claims that generally men think abt sex most of the time.

Guess who said the following words?

"Repression, Sir is a habit that grows. I am told it is like making love - it is always easier the second time! The first time there may be pangs of conscience, a sense of guilt. But once embarked on this course with constant repetition you get more and more brazen in the attack. All you have to do is to dissolve organizations and societies and banish and detain the key political workers in these societies. Then miraculously everything is tranquil on the surface. Then an intimidated press and the government-controlled radio together can regularly sing your praises, and slowly and steadily the people are made to forget the evil things that have already been done, or if these things are referred to again they're conveniently distorted and distorted with impunity, because there will be no opposition to contradict."

dont be surprised. LKY said it.

has a mega family gathering just now. was chatting with my couson. and we were grouping everyone there into those who are born in the 40s, 50s, 60s,70s,80s...and then both of us are in the 80s, and we realise that we are not young (or small) anymore coz there are so many 90s around.

later we found that there are a few 2000s. O_O WE ARE OLD.

1) Singapore election result is more promising than i thought. it seems that residents of Hougang and Potong Pasir are judicious voters, not being lured by promises to upgrade their flats by PAP. and the future of the opposition shd be brighter with more prominent opposition personalities like slyvia lim and low TK, who appeal to the voters as competent, rational opposition, who are totally different from some old crazy and noisy opposition in sg.

2)
thank you zidane, for bringing us so many years of wonderful football. who would forget ur magic feet, dazzling trickeries, horny dribbling, cut-throat passion, and ur smile and ur botak
and thru football, you teaches us what is beauty, what is passion, and gives us hopes in this otherwise cruel world tt is full of unhappiness. thank you zizou

3)
msia parliament. messy messy messy.
msia public trpt. better than i expected, but lotsa room to improve

critique

http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1638796

regarding the first crique "breast", i couldn't agree more. everytime when i flip the Straits Times of Singapore, i couldn't help but think that i am surfing porn. pictures of boobs and voluptuous female figures flood my eyes and raise my heatbeat thru sympathetic nerves connected to my heart. and i wonder what is happening to this premier english newspaper in sg. what happen to social decency?

and under "creativity and creed", it is said that most singaporeans are not happy with their lives. how true! when i was a student, my classmates were constantly stressed; when i was a waiter, my colleagues and bosses were usually unhappy and whiney; when i was a teacher, many of my collagues were pressurised and some even took leaves. it doesnt take much intellectual power to realise that this nation is sick.

there are serious socio-economic problems to solve in malaysia. and some problems are deep-rooted and extensive. however, i feel that malaysia, as compared to singapore, has more resemblence to a country, a community with its unique cultures, a society with intellectuals and citizens who have their own opinions, a nation with many NGOs that work hand-in-hand with the govt (or cover the blindspots of the govt), a Thomas Cup team with our own true-blue citizens.

on a completely irrelevent issue, my msian fren juz shared with me his interesting stories being a bartender in a ktv.
- his job is to make the drinks only. but when he sees a hot chic (w/o any men ard her), he will auto-send the drink to the room as well, and make fren haha
- his waiter colleagues sometimes even go into the room and sing with the customers. how hilarious is that!

well... i miss band, and how i wish i can go to Capriccio XXII. all the best to my juniors!
i revisit all my photos in the comp, and find that i badly miss my jc days. my youth! with all my critiques on singapore, there is no denying that i made some great singaporean frens. i sincerely wish that you guys will rise and spearhead a revolution for the better of singapore
i think the best lesson i learnt from hwachong is: live in passion, lead in compassion
